Let it snow: CMAC helps with snow packs

Dec. 14, 2011

Each winter, Friendship Trays offers its recipients a "snow pack," a bag or box of canned goods to be stowed away at home, to be used if drivers are unable to get through during wintry weather.

On Tuesday, folks who led this year's CMAC Holiday Food Drive delivered the canned goods collected during the drive to the Friendship Trays kitchen. Volunteers will later sort the goods into individual portions.

In the picture at right are, from left, Katie Kutcher from the Centralina Area Agency in Aging; Sara Privette from Regency Retirement Village; Dave Eaker of CMC Mercy Hospital; Lesha Dodson of Partners in Care of the Carolinas; the back of Friendship Trays Garden Coordinator Henry Owen; the small hand of Henry's son Jack; and Friendship Trays Executive Director Lucy Bush Carter.

Thanks to all of Tuesday's visitors, and all the people who donated the canned goods so that no recipents go hungry during the next winter storm.
