Sometimes, "people unable to prepare their own meal" means a neighbor just home from the hospital who needs help while they recuperate.
Sometimes, it means a couple trying to stay at home, but no longer able to drive and no longer able to stand long enough to cook a meal on the stove.
What it doesn't necessarily mean is "poor" or "old" or "senior." Back in the early 1970s, the Charlotte founders of Friendship Trays wanted to be able to serve everyone with the need. Today, this meals-on-wheels program has served dozens of seriously ill people in their 20s.
Your donations allow us to buy food, keep a roof over our heads and support the volunteers who package the food and drive most of the routes.
As a community, we can take care of one another. Your gifts help make that possible.
To donate right now, click on the map. If you would like to know more about Friendship Trays, look around this site. Or come take a tour on Dec. 15. Or call Executive Director Lucy Bush Carter at 704-333-9229 or e-mail her.
And thank you for supporting this mission.
