A former member of the Friendship Trays staff has died after an illness.

While on the job, James Wise was a man of startlingly few words. But he was a man of constant good deeds, as hundreds of Friendship Trays recipients knew.

Back in 2003, Mr. Wise volunteered to deliver meals. Later, he was employed to drive meal routes when there were no volunteers available. He looked after his people. No words were really necessary.

Late in his life, Mr. Wise joined his wife in receiving Friendship Trays meals.

The staff and volunteers of Friendship Trays extend their condolences to the family of James Wise. We will miss this man of strong character and quiet strength.

Funeral is noon Saturday, Aug. 13 at Mount Zion Church of God Holiness, 4600 The Plaza. Visitation is one hour before the service.
