Fourteen of the Friendship Trays volunteers who drive Route 20 for Trinity Presbyterian Church observed, or as their note said, "a little bird told us," that recipient C.W. on their route "needed a lightweight wheelchair so you could get out of your apartment."

So they pooled their resources and bought the wheelchair. Delivery day fell on Shirley Ramsey's turn to deliver the route. So in Monday's drizzle Ramsey, right, picked up her bags of food and then headed out to deliver nutritious meals – and more, to one recipient on her route.

Volunteers do the most wonderful things for our recipients. Our thanks this day to Jane Blount, Rosanne Brandt, Linda Brown, Susanne Hair, Karen Hobert, Alyce Mazeine, Sarah Mullis, Joy Nault, Patrice Pickett, Shirley Ramsey, Louisa Shugart, Carol Sugg, Carolyn Voorheis and Fran Worthington.
