Thanks to volunteer drivers from all over Mecklenburg. Instead of curling up with a good book or staying in their office cubicle, they grabbed the umbrella on Wednesday and tramped through the rain to deliver meals to their ailing and homebound neighbors. By the end of Wednesday, these dedicated people and a handful of paid drivers would deliver 100 meals to day-care centers, and 614 meals along 92 routes throughout the county. Job well done! And tomorrow? Rain or shine, they and other volunteers will do it all again. Because, like you, the people we serve need a good meal, and welcome a short visit.
