In order to deliver meals five days a week, the agency has a corps of more than 1,300 volunteers. It needs more volunteers and money.

Friendship Trays is a home-delivered meal program, delivering meals daily throughout Charlotte-Mecklenburg. Most meals are delivered by a corps of volunteers, 1300+ strong.

They deliver meals Monday through Friday and use 100 volunteers a day.

They are not a United Way agency. The people they help needed help before the economy took a turn.

So there hasn’t been this influx in requests. Where they are adjusting is in their subsidies, making sure they can still subsidize the meals they are currently serving. Some people pay a portion for the meals.

Can you help? We need volunteers to deliver meals at noontime daily and financial support to subsidize costs for those who cannot afford the full price of the meals. Check out our website at www.friendshiptrays.org
