For 33 years, it has been volunteers giving a few hours a month to many hours a week who have made it possible for Friendship Trays to deliver nutritious meals and a warm greeting to our neighbors who need help obtaining a daily meal.
Some volunteers come in as part of work-based teams. Some are parents who bring their young children along. Children are a particular delight to our homebound recipients, who may not see another person all day. And in greeting an older person and carrying a meal tray or a carton of milk or juice to the door, these children are learning to live out a commitment to community service.
If you can volunteer to drive a route over the lunch hour, whether it's one a week or once a month or on a substitute basis when called, let us know. Learn more about volunteering on this website, e-mail Lani Lawrence, our volunteer coordinator, or call Lani at 704-333-9229. And thank you for your service.
