Earth Fare and Friendship Trays will be partnering to help "Rock Out Hunger" at both Charlotte locations for an all-day 5% sales event!
All throughout the day there will be different ways in which one can contribute. Whether it's through buying a music note for $1, making non-perishable food donations or simply through the groceries that one purchases, it will all go to help "Rock Out Hunger."
Live music will be performed by various local musicians starting at 5:30 p.m. There will be kids' activities such as making musical instruments from recycled materials, and decorating brown paper bags marked "I helped Rock Out Hunger Today" for their parents to use when they check out after shopping.
At 5:30 p.m., Earth Fare will be breaking out the grill and serving up "Burger for a Buck" to benefit Friendship Trays until 8:00 p.m. or while supplies last. This special grill-out event will appease your appetite for good food and good deeds. It's hard to beat juicy, all natural burgers fresh from the grill but it gets even better when you know you're helping out a local nonprofit in the process! Volunteers from Friendship Trays will be grilling Earth Fare's classic beef burgers for only $1.00, so you can feed your whole family and your friends!
Earth Fare will also have "Beer for a Buck" from 5:30 p.m. to 8 p.m. All proceeds from "Burger for a Buck" and "Beer for a Buck" will go directly to Friendship Trays.
Friendship Trays is the primary meals-on-wheels program serving people in Charlotte-Mecklenburg of all ages who are no longer able to prepare their own meals. Founded in 1976, Friendship Trays is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit that is neither a government nor a United Way agency.
Earth Fare was founded in Asheville, North Carolina in 1975 and has grown into a premier chain of natural foods supermarkets located in North Carolina, South Carolina, Georgia, and Tennessee. All Earth Fare supermarkets provide customers with real food that tastes better – fresh, locally grown organic produce, artisan products such as raw milk cheeses and specialty wines, traditional hard-crusted bakery breads and pastries, as well as antibiotic and hormone-free meats and poultry, and sustainably harvested seafood.
