TIAA-CREF employees serve their community  

The week brought TIAA-CREF's Giving Back for the Greater Good Service Days.

And TIAA-CREF employees were at Friendship Trays, one team packaging meals, another splitting into 10 units to deliver meals to recipients in the Charlotte area.

The kitchen crew got to witness an unusual event: the presentation of birthday balloons and a singing telegram to longtime volunteer Linda Kincheloe. Friendship Trays will do most anything to keep its volunteers happy, but the balloons were  a bit unusual.

The usual is quite enough: An opportunity to serve people who because of age or infirmity cannot prepare their own meal.
