Does everybody at Friendship Trays have this much fun?
There's a spirit of hope and
determination inside the walls of Friendship Trays. It's part of the
culture of a nonprofit focused chiefly on providing a necessity of life
-- nutritious food -- to those of our neighbors too ill or infirm to
provide food for themselves.
That spirit is revived and deepened daily as we receive the generous
gift of volunteer time from groups like the one above: Finance
Enterprise Associates from Wachovia, who were in the Friendship Trays
kitchen Feb. 28. The bankers said they had so much fun they'd be back.
But maybe it wasn't just the fun: Bankers and every other sort of group
that helps out by preparing meals in the kitchen or driving routes knows
the value of reinvesting in the health and well-being of our community.
If you and your work group are looking for a team-building exercise, a
community service project or just a sense of accomplishment and giving
back to the community, call volunteer coordinator Lani Lawrence at
704-333-9229.
