Support a nonprofit: Pay to dress down

At the Charlotte office of LarsonAllen, a firm of CPAs, consultants and advisors, employees paid for the privilege of wearing jeans on Jan. 18. The money was then donated to Friendship Trays.

The Michigan Chronicle reported in 2005 that Charity Jeans Days were initiated by employees at DaimlerChrysler Services in Farmington Hills, Mich. The $5 donation entitling an employee to dress down went to charity.
