Video encourages action to fight hunger, homelessness, poverty
"Poverty. Homelessness. Hunger. It's all
right here, within sight of Charlotte's symbols of power and wealth."
So begins a short video featuring Friendship Trays
Executive Director Lucy Bush on how to work on three key issues roiling the
community.
"I
hope you will feel called to help the poor, to shelter the homeless, or to
feed the hungry," Bush says on the video. "Explore the issues. Talk to the
people who need help. It is immensely important that we all understand the
problems.
"But before you get overwhelmed, find some small way in
which you can take action today. Find your niche. That's what we've learned
in more than 30 years as a meals-on-wheels program."
