Cool meals update: Linking up
equipment for the conversion
"The world will little note nor long remember" a
hole opened in an industrial roof, capped temporarily in plastic
held in place with a rag bandana.
But breaching the Distribution Street roof while
barring the rain from the kitchen below marked a milestone Friday
for Friendship Trays.
The passage will allow tradesmen to link a
refrigeration unit on the roof with a "blast chiller" in the
kitchen.
There is no date certain for completion of the
conversion.
But visible progress is being made,
A crane lifted the refrigeration unit to the roof
Thursday. Downtown Charlotte's tower are visible above right.
Down below in the kitchen, technicians began
readying the blast chiller units for refrigerant and electricity.
