Friendship Trays News
Longtime volunteer pays a visit

Longtime Friendship Trays volunteer Bob Williams was back at his old haunts on Tuesday, July 24. Executive Director Lucy Bush says Bob "was just the most faithful volunteer."

Bob's daily routine was to come in early to help prepare trays. Then he'd drive a route. Every day.

Friendship Trays "inherited" Bob when Presbyterian Hospital's Senior Care Network shut down around 1990. Bob had been a volunteer there, helping out on weekends after his Pound & Moore job was done for the week. As Friendship Trays took on the weekend work, Bob moved over.

During many of those years, Bob volunteered seven days a week. Bob has been back occasionally since he "retired" late last year.

Oh yes, and what is the picture at right? Friendship Trays retired Bob's apron last year. It now hangs from a high wall in Kitchen Manager Sybil Durant's office.
