Friendship Trays News
Feeding Freedom

When the folks running Charlotte's Freedom Schools planned a joint daylong event July 13 at Grady Cole Center, they knew they'd have 600 hungry mouths to feed for lunch.

They turned to Friendship Trays to help turn a number of food donations into bag lunches.

Office and kitchen staff joined Freedom School volunteers rewrapping donated sandwiches ad filling brown bags. While there were more hands involved in the hourlong task, the process mirrored in some ways the breaking of large tasks into small ones that typifies how Friendship Trays produces more than 700 meals daily.

At right is a photo of the thank-you card the School sent along. Below, see the lunch-preparation process.
