We're accepting bids for the 'Traveling Chair'
Anybody
who has visited Friendship Trays in the last number of years knows the
rocking chair at right.
It's the Traveling Chair, and it's time for this chair to rock on away from Distribution Street for a good cause! The history:
In the year 2000, A Child's Place, a Charlotte nonprofit that works with homeless children, held a charity auction. The rocking chair was among the items. Bruce and Laura Parker's $500 donation was the winning bid for the rocking chair.
Then the Parkers turned around and donated the chair to Friendship Trays.
You must know a charity that could benefit by receiving a donation for this collector's item.
With a minimum $500 donation to Friendship Trays, the chair can be yours to give to the charity of your choice -- continuing the tradition of benevolence established by the Parkers.
The chair is available for inspection in the foyer of Friendship Trays, 2401-A Distribution St. in South End. The foyer is open from 8:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. weekdays. The chair may also be inspected by appointment.
For more information and to make your bid, contact Executive Director Lucy Bush Carter at 704-333-9229.
And happy rocking!
