5 volunteers win gas cards in drawing
We love our volunteers, and so does one of our anonymous
donors. A donor in January gave $100 for the sole purpose of
helping defray gasoline costs borne by volunteers who
deliver Friendship Trays. So for Valentine's Day, we had a
drawing for gas cards. A second donor kicked in $25 to allow us to
award five $25 cards.
On Valentine's, all the entry slips were put in a huge stainless
steel bowl and volunteers helped pick the winning slips.
And the winners are:
-- Cindy Arnold, part of a team from Amdocs Inc. that
delivers on Route 26.
-- Luther Jarrell, who began driving in 1996. He and his wife
now come in every Tuesday and Thursday to substitute on open
routes.
-- Ann Nichols,
who drives monthly as part of the Ascension Lutheran Church
team that drives Route 8.
-- Elaine Owens, who drives monthly for St. Gabriel Catholic Church
on Route 16.
-- Francis Price, part of the Shepherd's Center team that drives
Route 7.
Thanks to the volunteers who entered the drawing. And thanks to
every Friendship Trays volunteer for what you do for our recipients day in and day
out!
