Prudential donates proceeds from its Chili Cook-Off

Prudential Carolinas' SouthPark office chowed down Wednesday, and recipients of Friendship Trays came off the winners: Proceeds from the staff event will be donated to support Friendship Trays' work.

Writes Prudential's Mike Thornburg:

"Well, I've just about recovered from the today's 3rd Annual Charity Chili Cook-Off. Hope all those who competed and dined enjoyed the feast. Wow! We had 15 crocks pots full of the best chili East of the Mississippi. Someone commented that it looked like a crock pot rally in the Learning Center! The judges worked in earnest as we all waited, very impatiently, to gorge ourselves. Many thanks to the judges for their diligent work. Thanks to the Rock Hill contingent, Vicki, Liz, Brandy, and Jessica for their participation in the cook-off. We'll expect you and your chili back next year.

"Congratulations to our winners this year:

"1st Place, Marcus Nance for "His Majesty's Royal Chili" not to be confused with his other specialty, "Dalhmer's Human Chili"
"2nd Place, Linda Burleson for her "Pharter Starter" chili, and did it ever live up to its name! (What did you put in this stuff, Linda?)
"3rd Place, Charlene Thompson for her "Call of the Wild" chili featuring beef, pork, and venison (not the road kill variety)

"Thanks to all who entered their chili in the cook-off. You're all wonderful cooks! Now, put away those crock pots, no one here wants to see another bowl of chili for at least a year!..."

A big Thank You to Prudential Carolinas Realty! And if your company employees would like a Friendship Trays team to judge your fund-raiser for Friendship Trays, call Lucy Bush at 704-333-9229.
